On Monday night Sydney City Council resolved:
RECOMMENDATION
It is resolved that:
(A) Myrtle Street and the surrounding areas, Chippendale, be used by the City as a
demonstration site to showcase sustainable street technologies and programs;
(B) a detailed plan for the site be developed over the next six months, for funding
consideration in the 2011/12 budget;
(C) the Chief Executive Officer negotiate an agreement with Mr Michael Mobbs under
which he will provide technical advice, community education and general support
for the project for a period of six months while the detailed plan is developed; and
(D) up to $30,000 be allocated from the 2010/11 General Contingency to fund

I’ll be looking for as much help, advice, ideas and assistance as you may offer, please.  Businesses, residents and workers – please feel welcome to contact me over the next six months.

I’ll be seeking public participation in several ways over the next six months at meetings to be held as often as can be arranged.

This is a great opportunity for Chippendale, Sydney City Council and other urban environments which may use the data, designs, results, successes and failures of this project to learn and act to sustain our lovely Earth.

Contact me, please,

Michael

  1. I don’t know if you’re already aware of it, but Richard Walter has produced a useful guide to Edible Street and Park Trees for the Illawarra:

    It could contain some useful information for you.
