Add your ‘garage’ to the Garage Sale Trail

Hey, Chippo folk have a great opportunity to get rid of ‘stuff’.

Whether or not you own a ‘garage’ you can sell or give away things you don’t want on Sunday 7 April.

In an event being promoted by Sydney City Council, Waverley Council and other Councils any of us across Australia may take advantage of the promotion when lots of people will be on the hunt for bargains or handy stuff.

Find out more at:

www.garagesaletrail.com…

Wouldn’t it be great if there were lots of balloons outside units, houses and garages across Chippo on that day to attract attention to those taking part?

The event, and how to participate is described below in this text copied from the reduceyourfootprint web site:

“There are 7.4 million garages in Australia. What if every one of them had a garage sale on the same day?

Thousands of garage sales all over Australia on one huge day, that’s the idea behind the Garage Sale Trail.

On Sunday April 10, in garages all across the Eastern suburbs, join Sydney Wallabies captain and Garage Sale Trail ambassador Rocky Elsom and Faustina ‘Fuzzy’ Agolley in bagging a bargain or making some bucks offloading the stuff clogging up your cupboards.

If the first Garage Sale Trail, held last May in Bondi, is anything to go by there’ll be pop-up record stores, art shows, bike sales, backyard bands, sausage sizzles as well as your classic clothes and bric-a-brac sales. Plus, it’s a great to chance to meet the neighbours and have a yarn.

Check out last years Bondi event in action atwww.youtube.com…

The Garage Sale Trail is free to join and you don’t even have to have a garage…just set up in the front yard or join up with your neighbours.”

I’ve registered my garage sale as, “Chippo Harvest”.  I’ll give away and sell seeds, plants, compost and anything else that comes to hand.  Balloons here I come. You can search for sales on the website by postcode or items.

May the stuff not be with you,

Michael

    Bummer!

  2. Hi Marcia,

Thanks for your enthusiasm. In the first instance, you can register at http://www.garagesaletrail.com.au – you don’t need YouTube for that but you will need some details such as:

    - The types of things you’d like to sell
    - A name for your sale
    - A quick description of what will be happening on the day.

Good news for you is that Blacktown Council is a supporter of the project, along with Parramatta, Lane Cove, Liverpool, Waverely, Randwick, Ballina Warringah and Woollahra councils (and that’s just in NSW!). This means you’ll also get a participant pack on the day.

So give the website another try, and if you get stuck please just drop me a line at jess@garagesaletrail.com.au and I can help you out.

    Thanks,

    Jess

    Hi.
I think the garage sale trail is a great idea. But, I’m not very computer literate and have not been able to get into the register or home site.
Do you have to go through youtube?
Also is it only for the eastern suburbs?
I live in the Bankstown area and would like to participate. This is the only site I could interact with.
But, when I clicked on the “add your garage to the garage sale trail” it just drops out.
    Any advice would be welcome.
    Thanks
    Marcia
