Road gardening today
Today we worked on the compost bins in Peace Park, Myrtle and Rose Streets.
Some serious getting to the bottom of things work was done. John disappeared in one of the bins. Paul reckoned we could have popped John and the bin in the post, all we needed was a stamp.
Beth was awarded the Compost Bravery Award for Courage Under Fire From Cockroaches (First Class). It’s a big thing for a middle class girl to tackle her demons – cockroaches – when vastly outnumbered, but Beth did it.
Due to Beth also turning the bins into sparkling clean green machines, something they’ve not been ’til this moment, all onlookers are undergoing therapy for Compost Bin Cleaning Envy Syndrome (symptoms include armpit scratching, far away looks, and unwillingness to engage in simple conversation with Beth).
Paul from Darlington has graduated from his Initiates Course and will be back. So he says.
Xavier has the look of a long distance composter and went easily through to the end of the session.
John outshone us all by investing some hard cash in his very own compost bin which should be delivered next week.
Altogether, a very rotting morning with lots of decay, compost heat and cathartic augering of bins.
