Bob The Chook goes on the web
Today I spoke by video on my computer with some children in a school in Qld. They asked questions and I answered them as best I could.
To show the kids one of the things I do to live by growing my own food I held one of the chooks, Bob, in my arms for most of the 45 minutes of our discussion. Bob was the star. To persuade Bob to relax and be a webstar I held a little container of oats for her to peck.
The questions from the kids were terrific; sharp and intelligent.
One of the kids took a mobile phone photo from the back of the class and if you look closely at that photo above you can see me and Bob on the screen with the teacher looking on.
A very amazing moment; one small peck from Bob and a big step for sustainable living.

Awesome to have a professional, who is so passionate about sustainability, share his expertise with today’s youth. More importantly, half of the digital devices used (all of Michael’s) for the web conference were powered by the sun. It shows that the technology we use doesn’t have to have as negative an impact on our planet if used/powered intelligently. Thanks for your contribution to our classroom; it was fantastic!
